Food Services

Nutritious meals are an important part of the learning process. Therefore, we pledge to do our best to help your child get the most out of his/her day by providing a healthy breakfast and lunch every school day.
Visit this page to find out what’s on the menu as well as get some tips for making sure your child eats healthy and nutritious meals and snacks during these very important growing-up years.

School Menus
Our menus are now online. To get the menu, just go to the Snowflake Unified School District School Menus website. Then choose your school and breakfast or lunch menu. Once you choose these items, you will see the menu. The menu will list the two entrees—a hot vegetable and the fruit for the day. On the side, the widgets show the daily vegetables available in the salad bar, a variety of milk options, and the condiments offerings. There is also a widget with meal prices. You will also have the option to print this menu (the print button is on the top right corner). Before printing, be sure to check the "fit to page" box and that the printer settings are set to "portrait."

SFE as a company has chosen to go forward with menus this way as it offers more options for students, staff, and nurses, as you are able to look up calories, carbs, etc. as well as see what we are serving for the day.

Remote Food Service Availability flyer

Remote Food Service Availability
We look forward to welcoming your students back to school this fall. We will offer meals per your school district's direction this school year to accommodate students remaining home for remote learning. For students e-learning from home, all meals will be available for curbside pickup, offered at Taylor Intermediate and Snowflake High School from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. For more information, please see the details of the Southwest Food Service Excellence letter to parents in its entirety.
During this process, we are intentionally making school meals easy-peasy. Order online and save time through the free, convenient, and contactless ordering online or on our Nutrislice App which is available through the apple store and google play. You will need to pick out your kid's favorite and order within minutes. You can even view and filter the menu based on dietary preferences and allergens.  Lastly, all you need to do is pick out what your child is craving which will order your child's meal ahead of your schedule and then pick it up at the delegated school. Happy eating! Nutrislice is an equal opportunity employer.

Review of Our Food Service Department
I went down to Snowflake Intermediate this morning to get the nutrition info for Thanksgiving lunch. My 5th grade daughter has type 1 diabetes and needs carbohydrate counts on food in order to figure out her lunchtime insulin dosage. She rarely eats school lunch, so we don't deal with kitchen staff often. Anyways, we went down and spoke with the ladies there this morning, told them what we needed and they hopped on the computer to help find the info. The new computer system did not have the carbohydrate info but one lady went back into the kitchen and looked at the cans and packages to find the info on the nutrition labels for me. She helped me make a list for Kortnie and for Mrs. Brimhall the health tech, and she did it cheerfully and kindly and never made us feel like we were being a pain, I really appreciate that! We are thankful for their sweet attitudes.
Thanks so much,
Amanda Silverhorn
